Courtney

Courtney is a friend I have had the chance to shoot many times. She has helped me on some of my favorite personal projects (including my dust dancing photos) and is absolutely fantastic to work with. She’s an amazing dancer with a unique sense of style and attitude and is now pursuing acting  in Los Angeles.

Here’s a few of the images we had the chance to do recently….

Megan and Brett

Congrats to Megan and Brett!! They came all the way from Australia to get married at the beautiful Altadena Town and Country Club. I was lucky enough to be able to capture their wedding with the help of the amazingly talent Michelle Lacson from Michelle Lacson Photography.

Take a peak!

Ragus Family!

I have had the opportunity to shoot quite a few families recent but when I was contacted by Cassidy to shoot her family, she told me they’d be a handful. There were 17 people in total, and they hadn’t had any family photos in over 20 years! So I knew I was in for an experience, but instead of being the rowdy bunch I had been led to believe, they were great! We had the chance to shoot at a private residence and here is are a couple of the shots we got. In a short hour we got every family, all the kids, and the big group shot. The family was fantastic, and I am honored to have captured some of their memories.

The little ones were fantastic too, probably the best behaved kids during a photoshoot I have ever had the chance to shoot!

Davis Family Preview

I had the chance to shoot the Davis family the day after Christmas and wanted to share a preview of some of the awesome shots we got!

We shot this session at the Caltech campus located in Pasadena.  I highly recommend this location for family sessions as the campus is easy to find, has free parking, and allows for a lot of variation in locations. The grounds feature a fountain and pond right in the center of campus that I promptly jumped into to get some of these shots.

Marco and Maribel!

Congrats to Marco and Maribel on their recent engagement! They are such a beautiful couple, and while nervous getting their photos taken, they were absolute naturals! We shot right before Christmas at Pasadena City Hall, and the light was absolutely fantastic. Marco and Maribel were so easy to work with, and their images are beautiful! I cannot wait for their upcoming wedding in July 🙂

And just a few words about the location…

I am lucky to have some amazing shoot locations right in my backyard. One of the most popular with our clients has to be Pasadena City Hall, an amazing building that is open to photography and boasts some of the best architecture in the entire city. Couples love it because of it’s open spaces, and its unique aesthetic. Maribel and Marco chose this location for their engagement shoot but this location is so versatile, its great for families, headshots, and portraits.

Film in Wedding Photography

Have you ever felt that the era of film came to an end too quickly? Do you feel that digital photography just isn’t your aesthetic cup of tea? What if you wanted to give your images a more unique vintage feel?

Well since the advent of digital photography, most wedding photographers have embraced the ease and speed of the digital medium. Film wedding photography remains, but only in limited numbers and at a usually much higher average price point. Sadly, the mainstream wedding photographer has likely put down their old film gear for good.

But if you’ve been looking for a middle ground, film style with more mainstream prices, there’s hope. There are now fantastic ways to reproduce the look and feel of film while still maintaining the ease and speed of digital photography. In recent years, digital film reproduction has gotten better and better. Now you’re hardly able to tell what is real film and what is the reproduction! Because of this, we will now be able to present your entire wedding or portrait session using any of the vintage slide films below! It gives that unique vintage feel to your images, while not compromising on quality.

Evans Family!

Families who come back year after year hold a special place in my heart. I get the chance to watch the kids grow, and the parents always come with new ideas and we create fresh new images every year. The Evans family is one of those families.

Now on our third year working together, every year becomes more and more fun. This year we went back to UCLA and found an absolutely perfect Sunday in November to capture some fun images for their upcoming Christmas cards.

Here’s a couple images from our session!

Sammie and Derrill!

This past month I had the pleasure of shooting with the amazing Becca Rillo of Becca Rillo Photography. She has been a friend of mine for years now, and I absolutely LOVE working with her.
This time we were working on a beautiful wedding in Westlake Village at a beautiful residence with a gorgeous mountain backdrop. Congrats to the beautiful Sammie and Derrill!!

A Preview of Alex and Grete!

Every once in a while I get the chance to shoot a wedding at the perfect time of day, at an amazing location. In situations like this, you can’t possibly ask for a better opportunity to let the creative juices flowing! Alex and Grete’s wedding was one such occasion. The location was absolutely phenomenal, with one of the most beautiful homes I have ever seen as the backdrop for the entire day’s festivities.

I second shot for the amazing Evan Robinson from Evan Robinson Photography  and loved working with, for the first time, a wedding photographer that used strobes. All of my other colleagues have gone the natural light route, but Evan is a studio shooter by trade and brings that to his weddings as well. You should check out his site for some incredible studio portraits!

Enjoy this small preview and congrats to Alex and Grete!
